Welcome
It’s spring, let yourself be Verzaubert (enchanted)!

Approximately 60 romantic comedies, dramas, shorts and, yes, even musicals await you. There’s an infinite choice of fantastic features and documentaries, in which our heroes love, fight, lose and discover. They battle the prejudice of yesteryear (A WORLD UNSEEN), in the West (POOR BOY’S GAME) and in the East (14 GRAD OSTWÄRTS) and some of them have aged so well that Verzaubert 2008 presents them as gay classics: THE IDOL (1979 gay porn with a real plot!) and BEST OF LEZSPLOITATION (also from the ’70ies: a collection of the hottest scenes from pseudo-lesbian erotic films). MALA NOCHE from 1985 is shown as a tribute to its director, Gus van Sant, who since then has provided us time and time again with his unique view on the topic of youth – this year in PARANOID PARK. Another New Queer Cinema hero from the ’80ies has resurfaced: Tom Kalin (1992 opening film SWOON), whose fantastic epos SAVAGE GRACE is a festive opener for this year’s festival. LES CHANSONS D’AMOUR (Love Songs) will elegantly round off Verzaubert 2008.
