Todd hätte es kommen sehen müssen. Zwar hat er hat einen festen Freund, einen sicheren Job als Manager eines Kinos. Aber er ist süchtig nach schmutzigem, anonymem Sex. Seine Beziehung mit John hat für ihn längst jeden Reiz verloren, sein Büro ist ein fensterloses Verlies im Keller eines Multiplexes. In zunehmendem Maße verliert er den Boden unter den Füßen und verbringt mehr und mehr Zeit in Chatrooms und auf öffentlichen Toiletten. Als er von John kurzerhand auf die Straße gesetzt wird, nachdem dieser ihn beim außerehelichen Oralverkehr erwischt, beginnt für Todd der unaufhaltsame Rutsch nach unten. Todd Verow (FRISK) setzt sich selber mutig in Szene – die roughen Sexszenen sind nichts für Romantiker – er führt uns in eine Welt der Sucht und Isolation und stellt die für viele so unbequeme Frage: Ist Monogamie in einer schwulen Beziehung überhaupt möglich?

Filmed on digital video in a gritty, improvisational style, ANONYMOUS pulls no punches in its depiction of the attractions-and the costs-of easy, no-strings hook-ups in the Internet age. While it charts the down-and-dirty life of its protagonist, ANONYMOUS also poses tough questions about the nature of attachment and emotional involvement, and the ways that we lose a connection to someone we love.
