Let us entertain you – for the last 15 years this has been our battle cry. In a world of politically correct queer film festivals and cinematic monotony at the box office, verzaubert has been a stalwart of top notch features, the world’s best gay and lesbian short films and hot button documentaries. This year is no exception. One piece of advice: We would like to encourage everyone to also check out the films they normally wouldn’t think about attending.

While we love all of our films – there is something for every woman and man to find in our premiere heavy line-up – we should tell you to run, and not walk, to buy tickets for the discovery of the year, C.R.A.Z.Y. – a film that redefines the coming out genre. Boasting some of the juiciest music of the 60s and 70s, a stellar cast and a superb script, our Opening Night has instant classic written all over it.

Add to the mix the sure-fire audience hit SAVING FACE, a tissue-destroying François Ozon Centerpiece (TIME TO LEAVE) and Closing Night’s audacious MYSTERIOUS SKIN by indie king Gregg Araki, the all-you-can-watch buffets of our short film marathons GAY PROPAGANDA NIGHT and THE ELLE WORLD, and more romantic comedies, moving dramas, white-knuckle thrillers and eye-opening docs than you can shake a stick at – all we can say is: We will rock you!
